Science Behind Soap 

Learning chemistry through real-life applications!

York Academy students discovered the science behind soap making, starting with oil preparation, observing the exothermic dissolution, and learning how fatty acids dissolve into cooking oil to form soap. The process continued with cooling and molding, followed by the curing stage, where the soap becomes ready to use in 4–6 weeks.

To make it even more exciting, our demonstrator brought fully cured, ready-to-use soap, allowing students to test and compare it with the newly made soap. A fun, sensory way to experience science beyond the textbook
