Convection is a mode of heat transfer that occurs in fluids (liquids and gases) and involves the movement of the fluid itself. It is driven by temperature differences within the fluid, leading to heat transfer from one region to another. In this activity, our elementary students tried to spin a paper carousel using heat that came from candles. The candle carousel shows the heat energy, convection by the heat rising and turning into wind energy, causing the paper to swirl.
